About Paul J. Waters

Paul focuses his practice on helping companies comply with OSHA and MSHA regulations, manage inspections, and defend themselves against the government when they receive OSHA or MSHA violations.

He assists companies in providing their input to OSHA when the Agency proposes rules that will affect their business. He also represents clients during whistleblower investigations handled by OSHA brought under laws such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, or the Surface Transportation Assistance Act.

Paul first began practicing safety and health law with W. Scott Railton, one of the first assistant counsels dealing with Occupational Safety and Health for the Department of Labor, who then became one of the first General Counsels for the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. In 2002, Scott was appointed Chairman of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission by President George W. Bush.
